"College is not a right but a privilege. And I see how people suffer day-to-day because they didn't pursue further. My motivation is time because I have none to waste. I only have one life to go to college. A college degree means having a better life for my kids than my parents were able to make for me."

- Regularly connect with your mentee by phone, email, or in-person (minimum one time per month)
- Work as a team member with Meritus staff to communicate Scholar progress in college
- Attend and participate in Meritus training and events
Become a Career Connection
- Help Scholars prepare for informational interviews
- Offer job shadowing opportunities
- Connect Scholars with supportive professionals in your field
- Provide feedback on student resumes
- Participate in career panel discussions

Become an Advocate
- Tell other people in your personal and professional network how they can get involved with Meritus
